Dustin Cassady shared child pornography via a peer-to-peer file sharing network over the Internet.
A Carmichael man pleaded guilty today to sharing child pornography, U.S. Atty. Benjamin Wagner announced. Dustin Cassady, 31, pleaded guilty to one count of sharing child pornography via a peer-to-peer file sharing network over the Internet, Wagner said in a news release. Cassady was identified as a former Mormon youth pastor by News 10. The case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Asst. U.S. Atty. Matthew Morris is prosecuting the case. According to court documents, on Nov. 20, 2010, an undercover agent was able to download child pornography from a computer that was later traced to Cassady. Daily News: drug task force agents make arrests May 8.
Two Carmichael residents were arrested May 8 in Red Bluff, the Daily News reported. Lance Sterling Stenhouse, 31, and Rattana Seng Phomsouvanh, 34, both of Carmichael were arrested by drug task force agents in the 200 block of Antelope Boulevard, the Daily News reported. Stenhouse was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime. Bail was set at $15,000, the Daily News reported. Phomsouvanh was charged with attempted possession of marijuana for sale and attempted trafficking of marijuana. Bail was set at $60,000.

Break-in occurred April 17.
On April 17 around 5 a.m., unknown suspects used a rock to smash a window out and gain entry into San Juan Unified School District's Teachers Association office. According to a Sacramento County Sheriff's report, the suspect(s) stole two computer monitors from a front office of the Landis Avenue building. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. Coroner identifies man as William Flores; CHP says it doesn't appear to be foul play.
A 57-year-old Carmichael man was found dead this morning outside the Carmichael Department of Motor Vehicles office, California Highway Patrol officers have confirmed. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office identified the man as William Flores. At about 7 a.m., the DMV building manager arrived at work and found Flores near the front door with a gun in his hand, said CHP Sgt. David Barker. Officers arrived on the scene and found Flores to have a single gunshot wound to his head with a 22 caliber revolver. Barker said the wound appeared to be self-inflicted and that no foul play is suspected. Miguel Sanchez went missing April 3.
Miguel Sanchez, reported missing on April 3 from a group home in the 9800 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard, has been located, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office announced. Sanchez, 11, was found safe and unharmed on April 19 by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, said Sac. Co. Dep. Police need your help in locating Kristi Merrill, missing since last month.
A woman last seen in Carmichael has now been missing for about a month, officials reported. Kristi Deann Merrill, 25, was last seen March 23, according to the California Department of Justice. Sacramento County Sheriff's Department officials say the suspected gunman died after being shot by deputies.
The suspected gunman who authorities say evaded them for hours, stole numerous cars and caused a lengthy traffic stoppage on the Yolo Causeway Friday was killed in an apartment in the Arden Arcade area of Sacramento County later that day, according to authorities. The man, who was identified as 38-year-old Jimmy Lee Graves, eventually holed himself up in the Ardenaire Apartments on Ethan Way, according to a press release from Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos. The county sheriff's department had been assisting the West Sacramento Police Department in the hunt for the suspect. FBI: Mahendar “Mike” Singh operated prostitution enterprise.
A former Sacramento resident was arrested Thursday for sex trafficking in Sacramento County and several Bay Area counties, the FBI announced. Mahendar “Mike” Singh was sentenced yesterday to nine years in prison for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, United States Attorney Melinda Haag announced in a news release. Singh, 40, pleaded guilty on Jan. 11 to sex trafficking conspiracy. In pleading guilty, Singh admitted that he and his wife, co-defendant Helen Jean Singh (née Kearney), 22, conspired to operate a prostitution enterprise between spring and August 2011, according to the release. “Today’s sentence is a victory not only for the young victims of this particular case but also for human dignity and the rule of law,” Clark Settles, …
